Northumberland Nettle is one of our bestselling cheeses, and for good reason. Made with cows' milk from Northumberland Farms, this is delicious Northumberland Original recipe, with the addition of real nettles. For those who have not tried it, nettles may seem like a peculiar addition to cheese, but in actual fact, nettles can be used to coagulate milk in place of rennet! We make our cheese with vegetarian rennet, so the nettles are not really functional... but you could say it was the inspiration. We actually find the addition of nettles encourages the beautiful creaminess of the Gouda-influenced cheese. We promise the nettles won't sting you!
This cheese is matured for 3 months which allows the subtle flavour to develop, and it gives the cheese a fantastic, well-rounded maturity which doesn't overpower the gentle taste experience.
The nettles bring a subtle but complex dimension to the cheese; they truly enhance the rich and creamy qualities of the cheese. With its gorgeous, green-flecked appearance, this cheese is certainly a talking point on the cheese board. Team it with Oak-Smoked, for a proper bestsellers cheese board. Or it's fabulous with a courgette on a vegetarian pizza!

We deliver to a wide range of postcodes, and you can easily check availability using our postcode checker. If we’re not currently delivering to your area, you’re welcome to contact our office on 01937 531693 or email office@theorganicpantry.co.uk to see if we can extend our delivery route to you.
Once you place an order, we’ll email you to confirm your delivery day. While we generally stick to set delivery routes to keep things efficient and eco-friendly, occasional changes may happen, and we’ll always notify you in advance. Because of this route-based system, we’re unable to offer specific delivery days or exact time slots, but you can always get in touch with the office if you need a rough idea of when to expect your order.
All deliveries currently include a temporary £1.99 charge due to rising fuel and haulage costs, although we continue to review this weekly with the aim of returning to free delivery as soon as possible.
If you’re not going to be in when we arrive, don’t worry—our drivers are experienced in safely leaving boxes in secure locations. You can leave instructions when ordering, such as a doorstep, shed, or neighbour, and if no instructions are provided, the driver will choose the safest option available and post your invoice through the door.
Your payment information is processed securely. We do not store credit card details nor have access to your credit card information.
